Spike Lee will reprise his role as Mookie from 1989’s “Do the Right Thing”

 

*Spike Lee is bringing  out Mookie from 1989’s “Do the Right Thing” in his next movie “Red Hook Summer,” which will premiere Jan. 22 at the Sundance Film Festival.

One of the ‘Red Hook Summer’s"’ main characters in the movie is a boy named Flik. Flik is from Atlanta, but his mother sends him to his grandfather’s which is located in Brooklyn’s Red Hook housing project.

The film stars Jules Brown, Toni Lysaith, Nate Parker, James Ransone, Keke Palmer, James Ransone and Thomas Jefferson Byrd.

“Red Hook Summer” is produced by Lee and James McBride. They also co-wrote the script.

Spike Lee can actually allow someone else to play Mookie!!! I’m just saying!!!!
